Understanding that Sales & Marketing are literally completely different worlds in how the departments view the customer is amazing!
Marketers: Customer = Statistic
Sales: Customer = A Good Buddy
My thoughts: companies can match up a customer demographic with a sales person that can best relate to that group and gain trust, and a loyal following, then team up a marketing rep that can work with that sales person & demographic to define a custom solution from the salesperson’s perspective on how his “good buddy” will take to the info.
Let’s think about customer vs. product driven sales force…we do customer driven marketing, right?
